Across America families and friends are gathering this week, and as they talk over the egg nog, the dinner table, the drinks, in the car, on planes and in airports they are comparing notes. Though politics and religion are supposed to be off limits, they never completely are. In fact I’d wager more that a few political discussions are taking place this week. My guess is that national holiday conversation has a subtle way of shifting and hardening public opinion.
