The best moment of my day just got way better. Such a touching story.

I went to the Hillary rally last night in Cincinnati.  As Hillary took the stage I happened notice this woman standing near me and snapped this photo with my phone.  When Hillary left the stage to shake hands the girl made a bee line for the front of the crowd and I handed mom by card. I offered to send her the photo.  She e-mailed me this morning, I did and below is what she wrote back.  There are some things amidst all the ugliness of this year that make it all worthwhile.  The girl who skipped Halloween.

I love it!!!  To give you a little background....I am a life long republican.  I have never voted for a Democrat in a presidential election.  I absolutely cannot stand Trump or anything he stands for.  I was on the fence when it came to Hillary until she got the nomination.

I was at work that night and I came in very late. I'm a bartender and a full time student so the nights are long. When I came in, Keira, my youngest and the daughter in the picture, came in.  I was surprised to see her up and kind of fussed a bit because she should have been in bed but she wanted to talk.  It sounded important so I sat down with her.   She cuddled up and said, "we watched TV with Daddy tonight."  I replied, "what did you watch?"  She couldn't remember and then said "they were giving someone the nomination to be president."

I immediate figured out that they were watching the DNC.  When I asked her what she thought, she said something I will never forget.  "It's a girl, Momma.  Did you know a girl could be president?"  Instant tears.  I was told as a young teenager that a woman couldn't be president because we were too emotional.  And one teacher in high school even laughed and said, "if a woman were president, countries would be nuked if she had pms."  My girls are growing up in a different world...one where a woman can be the leader of the free world!

I sat down with my little girls when Hillary gave her acceptance speech and knew then that I would vote for her.  Not just became she is a woman but because she had a plan...and she knew what she needed to do to get results.

Keira asked to skip Halloween to go see Hillary and it's something neither of us will forget.  Thank you so much for the picture!!

Sincerely, Lori Teasdale
